Sports Pavilion Refurbishment

Many of you will have seen the fencing around the Sports Pavilion at the Recreation Ground. Winterbourne Parish Council have been planning an upgrade and refurbishment of the pavilion for many years and we are so pleased that, finally, works have started.

The current pavilion was not fit for purpose and hasn't had any work done for nearly 25 years. This meant that the interior layout did not meet many of the Sport England requirements which meant that clubs could not progress into upper leagues.

After consulting with architects and Sport England, the new layout will not only enable teams to progress but will create an inviting space for players and supporters alike.

Winterbourne Parish Council have been building up reserves for this project for a number of years. However, due to the increase in construction costs, we will have to apply for a Public Works Loan to cover the shortfall, estimated at £100,000.00. The Parish Council are confident that they will not have to increase the precept to cover the repayments.
